Kenso Software Releases SPC Chart PRO for Grafana

Kenso Software Releases SPC Chart PRO for Grafana

September 12, 2026 — Kenso Software has released SPC Chart PRO, a commercial statistical process control panel for Grafana. The new panel is aimed at manufacturing, quality and process engineering teams that already use Grafana and want to perform more complete control-chart analysis without moving their data into a separate SPC application.

SPC Chart PRO builds on Kenso Software’s free SPC Chart plugin, adding attribute charts, time-weighted charts, short-run methods, automatic run-rule detection and tools for managing control limits. The current release includes 22 chart types across variables, attribute, time-weighted and short-run chart families.

“SPC Chart PRO installs directly into Grafana and works with the measurement data manufacturers already have,” said Tomasz Czerkas, founder and CEO of Kenso Software. “It can run in the cloud or on their own network, so quality teams can put SPC analysis on the same Grafana dashboards they use for production, equipment and process data.”

SPC Chart PRO adds several capabilities beyond the free SPC Chart panel:

  • Nelson Rules 1–8, with automatic violation detection, severity markers, sigma zones and rule information in tooltips and CSV exports.
  • Attribute charts for count and pass/fail data, including p, np, c, u, Laney p′ and Laney u′ charts. Variable control limits follow changes in subgroup sample size.
  • CUSUM and EWMA charts for detecting smaller sustained shifts that may not be apparent on a conventional Shewhart chart.
  • I-MR-R/S, DNOM and Z-MR charts for between/within variation and short-run manufacturing.
  • Point exclusion, allowing a known measurement error or assignable-cause point to remain visible while being omitted from control-limit, capability and run-rule calculations.
  • Staged control limits, allowing separate control limits to be calculated before and after a process change such as a machine adjustment, material change or recalibration.
  • Control-limit estimation options, including Rbar, Sbar, pooled standard deviation, average moving range and median moving range, as well as historical process mean and sigma.

The free SPC Chart remains available for teams that need XmR, Xbar-R and Xbar-S charts, specification and control lines, Cp/Cpk and Pp/Ppk capability statistics, alerting, annotations and CSV export. SPC Chart PRO is a superset of that panel rather than a replacement for it.

Because SPC Chart PRO runs as a Grafana visualization, it works with data queried through existing Grafana data sources. That includes SQL databases, Prometheus, InfluxDB, CSV and other sources supported by Grafana. The chart can display Grafana annotations and alert state changes alongside measurement data, giving quality teams additional context when investigating process events. Users can also add annotations directly from a data point to record what happened, document an investigation or explain why a point was excluded from the SPC calculation.

Pricing and availability

SPC Chart PRO is available now through the Grafana Plugin Catalog as a commercial Kenso Software plugin.

Pricing is $10 per user per month. Custom pricing is available for larger deployments.

The current release requires Grafana 11.6.10 or later.

More information is available from the SPC Chart PRO documentation, the Grafana Marketplace listing, and the KensoBI SPC plugins page.
